Next Week...What to Do in the Queen City....

Another week, more music!! Let's get into with the latest edition of "Next Week"!!

Thursday November 13th the Double Door Inn will host Cedric Burnsides and Lightnin Malcolm. Cedric is the grandson of legendary Bluesman R. L. Burnsides and has been touring since he was 13 with "Big Daddy". Lightnin Malcolm is an accomplished blues guitarist know for his slashing rythmic style. Together they should throw a killer show for any fan of great blues! Doors are at 7:00 and tickets are $7.

November 14th Tremont Music Hall welcomes the Stragglers with Jim Garrett and Cattletruck. The Stragglers are a great group of veterans who play a mean mix of western swing, americana and rockabilly. Great, smooth guitar melodies mix with smooth rhythm to make for a great time to be had by all. Cattletruck are getting ready to head to Nashville for a big bbq and bourbon festival but first they make a stop at Tremont. Cattletruck play more of the gothic southern vein. Stories of back alley deals gone wrong and searches for redemption in the small towns of the south are normal stomping grounds for this group. Also on the card is veteran guitar picker Jim Garrett. Doors are at 8 and the show is $8 for over 21 and $11 for under.

Finally on November 15th, the Milestone Club has a huge show featuring 25 Minutes to Go, The Trampskirts,  Planet Piss,  Admirals Club and Andy the Doorbum. You'll recognize 25 MTG from Day of the Dead and you'll know they can be relied on to rock the house. Planet Piss and known for their wicked sense of humor and reckless stage shows. The Trampskirts are an all female band that will rock your socks off and Andy the Doorbum is one of those Charlotte mainstays that should be on the must see list. Also playing is the Admirals Club.  Doors are at 8:00 and the show is only $6!

That's it for this week. As always be sure to send me your flyers and I'll be happy to talk about your shows. On a side note, you will notice that I didn't include any listings for Snug Harbor this week. That's because their website is down. Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon!!
